Attendance and Absence

Daily attendance is a priority at Eagle Heights in order for your child to be successful. Our school hours are from 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. If your child is absent, please communicate with our attendance clerk, Maria Bazan, and your child's teacher.

For an absence to be "excused"  a note must be sent to the office (parent note, doctor/dentist note, funeral program, etc.) Parent notes will only be accepted within 2 days of the absence. Medical and dental notes will only be excused for the dates written by the provider. After three unexcused absences, a truancy warning letter will be sent to the parent/guardian.

Notes can be sent with your child, faxed to the school, or emailed to Maria Bazan.

For your convenience we have an online form you may complete that will be submitted directly to the attendance office.

This form only reports the absence. You must send a note when your student returns to school.

Submit and online absence report.

Tardies

Arriving at school on time is critical in your child’s academic success. Students dismiss to their classrooms at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast with their peers. Breakfast ends at 7:45 a.m. for classroom instruction to begin with academic interventions. Daily attendance is recorded at 10:00 a.m.

Below is our campus tardy policy:
Tardy 1-2: Parents receive a warning message.
Tardy 3: Parent letter sent home to sign and return.
Tardy 4: The teacher will contact the parent.
Tardy 5: Mrs. Gerold will contact the parent.
Tardy 6: Parent conference.

Additional tardies will result in a home visit and/or notification to our Chief of Police, Darren Brockway. Our goal is to create a partnership to develop a plan to ensure your child’s success.
